I don't know about emails but as my agency is called Dinosaur PR, I did have a very confusing phone call with a guy who rang my mobile to explain he was outside and why wasn't I answering the door as he had a meeting with laura and Gary we looked outside and there was nobody there.

For a start we don't have a Laura or a Gary - so I started to find the call rather amusing. So I told him and the call continued with him asking me why I couldn't see him was I stupid?

So after 10minutes of him telling me that he was getting rather annoyed. I said which agency are you after? He said Dinosaur PR, "I have been on your website and it says" and I said that's right Dinosaur PR we are based in Leeds and York and he said no "You are based in Manchester!".

Err no you are looking for a marketing agency called Dinosaur aren't you?

Errr "Oh yes I am sorry!".

It did make me laugh though.

Wowsers! Now that's what I call serendipity!

When things like that happen, you've no choice but to see it as a sign. These incidents happen more often than we think... I guess we just have to acknowledge them when they occur.

Good luck with the job!

What a heart-warming tale. This hasn't happened to me by email, but isn't at all uncommon by text - perhaps I have an easily mistypeable number.

Serendipity is all around us all the time though, for example:

I'm leaving my job in April and was thinking while ironing a shirt this morning that I should get in touch with the director of a charity that likes and respects me, and who I know will probably have a task or two coming up that I can help with. One hour later I'm sitting on the tube and who sits down next to me? The man in question - who proceeds to tell me about an exciting new project they are planning and that he was going to get in touch to see if I could help! A quick handshake (and another business card from me - just as a little memory jogger) and I left the tube with a smile on my face today...
