My Secret Santa gift makes me jump for joy
The wonderful Melinda Seckington (a.k.a. Miss Geeky) had the wizard idea of setting up a London Blogger’s Secret Santa for Christmas 2009.
Writing on her blog, Melinda threw down the call to festive action for all bloggers to get involved:
“So here’s the plan (for those of you who don’t know what Secret Santa is): all of the participants will be randomly assigned another blogger to send a gift to, and these assignments are kept secret until the gift has been delivered. So no one knows who their gift is coming from! The idea is to get inspired by your assigned person’s blog/twitter/whatever presence that person has online and get them a suitable gift.”
The primary stipulation was that gifts should be kept under £15 including shipping costs and that there should be enough “info” about you online for your secret Santa to get you a present.
It’s no big secret that I’m planning on getting into shape for my forthcoming nuptials this year, so I was quite pleased with my gift: a Reebok speed cord (which is a more ‘manly’ way of describing a skipping rope)!
As the video below reveals, I am completely devoid of co-ordination and grace. But hey – practice makes perfect (or in my case, a perfect plonker).
The voice in the background is my lovely bride to be, Stéphanie who despite assuring me that she was just going to take stills did in fact manage to capture the whole thing on video. Thanks Steph. Just be careful next time you put on that Davina aerobics DVD… you never know who’ll be filming…
I’ve already declared my prezzie to Hannah (a.k.a. Rock Angel), so will whoever sent me this really thoughtful gift please step forward and reveal yourself…
I really appreciate the wonderful present and am determined to use it every day (weather permitting!).
Thank you very much…
I’m glad Melinda roped me into this Secret Santa lark!
