The guys at NEON are working on a really interesting project which goes live today.

Havana Cultura, a global art initiative from Havana Club rum, launches the ‘Havana Twitter Treasure Hunt’ on Monday 19^th October. Using clues posted on Twitter, followers will virtually explore the city of Havana’s parks, hills, and crashing coast line and hang out in the neighbourhoods of famous Cuban directors and musicians on www.havana-cultura.com to find the answers (treasure) they are looking for.

There are ten clues in total – two clues will be released twice daily – at 1pm and 5pm on Monday, Wednesday and Friday – finished off by a final tie-breaker. Solved clues are required to be sent via Twitter!  Latecomers are welcome to join – just search Twitter using the hashtag #HavanaTreasureHunt to catch up.

Followers will report the answers back via Twitter for their chance to win two VIP tickets to Gilles Peterson’s exclusive Havana Cultura album launch party in Paris on 26^th November. The winner will travel to Paris with a friend via Eurostar and spend three nights in a hotel near the launch party venue .

The Havana Twitter Treasure Hunt has been organised by Havana Cultura. A window on contemporary Cuban culture, Havana Cultura has been developed to give the spirit of Havana a global voice. The aim of the project is to give modern Cuban artists, from the city of Havana, a unique platform to showcase their work internationally and convey their true way of life. Each of the artists featured on www.havana-cultura.com introduce their favourite place in the vibrant city of Havana, to give visitors insight from the perspective of a true local.

The treasure hunt will run for two weeks via the Havana Cultura Twitter profile giving participants the opportunity to discover interesting and surprising facts about Cuban culture and the city of Havana. The virtual journey will showcase the best Havana has to offer, all introduced by fresh talents.
