Culture jamming is not defined by any specific political position or message, nor even by any specific cultural position or message. The common thread is mainly an urge to poke fun at the homogeneous nature of popular culture, often by means of guerrilla communication (communication unsanctioned or opposed by government or other powers-that-be).

The Conversation Prism v2.0

The brains that are Brian Solis and Jesse Thomas have updated their Conversation Prism:

Social Media vs. Justice

Today’s papers are reporting on a case currently focusing on Greater Manchester police’s hunt for a rapist which has spilled onto a Facebook Group entitled ‘Find the Sale rapist’.

CCTV footage of the offender has been posted to Facebook by the victim’s partner Glyn McCutcheon in a bid to track down and arrest the man in question. However, detectives working on the case have warned that the Facebook campaign could wreck the chance of a successful prosecution if the case ever reaches court.
According to reports, the identification issue has alarmed Greater Manchester police, …

Skype on iPhone: What’s the fuss about?

Skype has become a top trending topic on Twitter today thanks to the news that it will be arriving in the Apple App Store on Tuesday for use on iPhones across the land.
Mashable covered the story this morning and has fuelled the Twitterati’s enthusiasm for *yays* and *hoorays*.

Interestingly, 3G Skype calls won’t be available on the 02 platform – …

LGenius takes TV to the next level

I love this staged presentation from LG’s LGenius project which introduces some quirky spoof TV features that should raise a smile or two…

LGenius is a division of LG created to push the boundaries of imagination. According to its website, LGenius’ first mission is to take TV to the next level. The company believes that products should be designed around people’s needs, so the website invites visitors to contribute ideas on how TV can be improved. You can also comment on the ideas of others or just explore and as …
